What's the plan for the day?

The most important thing is that we have fun together! The theory of aperture, focal length, shutter speed and ISO and their interaction is of course also important, but I like to work according to the motto "learning by doing". So we will take a lot of pictures. You have to get started first, maybe make mistakes and then learn from it! Mistakes are important and learning and development never stops!

This course is for beginners who want to learn how to properly adjust their camera in different circumstances and what to look for in equine photography. So you do not have to have any special basic knowledge. However, what is important are these points:

  • Digital SLR camera

  • Telephoto lens with at least 100mm focal length

  • Manual, batteries, many memory cards (not that you have to stop when it's the most beautiful)

  • Solid shoes & clothes that can get dirty

  • Optionally, you can bring your laptop - but that's not a must

  • Good mood and fun on horses

The number of participants is limited to a small group of people. That's the only way I can speak to each one of you and help you with words and deeds.

When does it start?

We will meet at 10am to have some theory followed by a tasty lunch. The whole afternoon we will enjoy great photoshoots until the sun goes down.

who will be our models?

We will have the chance to photograph the beautiful horses of Shona Watt and Phil McLean from a Draft x over a Quarter Horse to Andalusians. I think that we will have such a great time and we will have the opportunity to learn how to place the horses according to their different body shapes.

&

what happens when the weather is bad?

The course takes place in all weather conditions. In bad weather we will adjust the daily routine to the weather.
