Following the principles of the Academic Art of Riding

I was born in Germany with French roots. I started photographing the world around me at an early age. I like the idea of stopping time in order to preserve beautiful moments. So whenever you want, you can go on your own personal journey through time and feel and experience everything again.

I am not a classical trained photographer. I have acquired my skills in a variety of ways over the years. Among other things, by studying at the New York Film Academy in New York City. A very intense and inspiring time for me!

Back in Germany, my camera and I started our own business in 2011. Since then we are traveling the world to meet wonderful horse people and to capture their magic for ever.

Harmony between the rider & the horse

Ever since I can remember I was fascinated by horses of any kind. I am a horse girl - no doubt about it.

I was introduced to the Academic Art of Riding by Bent Branderup in 2005. The method of educating the horse & primarily finding unity between horse and rider where principles that deeply resonated with me. Since then I have been training myself and my mare Ginger according to these principles.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach and everyone is encouraged to find and follow their own path with their horse. On their way of education, they get to know many different “tools” that can be used individually. Whether on the ground, ridden or in liberty. Whether with a bit or without one. Just as it suits the trainer and the horse best at their current point of education. Everyone and every path is different but still following the same principles.

And it's on these paths that magical moments happen that I love to capture so much. And it doesn't matter at what level of education. Whether it is at the early stage, in the middle or during difficult exercises. Moments where horse and trainer seem to be dancing. Connected by a transparent ribbon. Completely at ease and filled with incredible gratitude and joy.

This is my world.

This is where I feel at home.

Inevitably, my photography is also following these principles. My personal working motto comes from Xenophon and sums it up pretty well.

Anything forced
is not beautiful
